yarn types

P'rhaps the type of yarn used does make a difference. I got a pattern to make a stuffed animal, shown "below (or above, depending on where it actually ends up)," but since I couldn't find the Light 'n' Lofty, used a different (super) bulky yarn instead. My harp seal doesn't quite get the original flavor though... I'm not sure if it's the yarn I used, or because my pattern results are similar to my baking results; the finished object never quite ends up the way the pattern (either crochet or kitchen) says it will.

The shawl draped over the chair is what I received in the mail a couple days ago. Isn't it beautiful?? Yeah, I think so too. :D I like the colors, and especially the fringe. Mmmmmm, fringe.

And I've included a shot of the detail in the stitching. I've seen this pattern before, and wondered what it looked like up close. Now I know. Thankee muchly, Shelly!
